Portugal airport parking

Portugal’s motorways use two toll systems, traditional and electronic-only. At a traditional toll plaza you take a ticket on the way in and pay on the way out, by cash or card, or use the lanes set aside for electronic payment. Electronic-only stretches do without booths: gantries detect each passing vehicle, and a foreign-registered car must already have an activated means of payment before it drives on them.

The means of payment open to a foreign-registered car include EasyToll, which pairs a bank card with the number plate, a prepaid Tollcard, Via Verde’s Go Toll subscription, or a compatible toll device issued in another country. EasyToll and Tollcard do not cover the Lisbon bridges run by Lusoponte. Tolls run up on an electronic-only road without a means of payment have to be settled afterwards with the operator responsible.
