Driving to the airport: Poland

On the motorways and expressways run by GDDKiA, Poland’s national road authority, cars, motorcycles and other light vehicles pay no toll; the electronic e-TOLL system there is for heavy vehicles. Motorway sections run by private concession companies still charge cars, at their toll plazas.

In some Polish cities, clean transport zones (strefy czystego transportu), a form of low-emission zone, keep older, more polluting vehicles out of part of the city. Warsaw’s covers central Warsaw, and its entry rules, set by the city council, tighten in stages. Rules and exemptions vary by city, so look them up for each city you plan to drive into.
